New project in Spanish for NOmasIVA.com

You know me, I can’t pass up an opportunity to stick it to the man. With that in mind, I’ve been working on a new blog for a few months now; NOmasIVA.com.

The history of the website is very interesting. It was set up in 2010 by the right-wing President of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, as part of a “campaign to rebel” against the socialist government’s intention to raise VAT tax by 2%

In 2012, once in power, Aguirre’s Partido Popular decided to raise VAT tax again… this time another 3%

They shut down NOmasIVA.com and did everything they could to erase any evidence of their hypocrisy, but the internet never forgets; I recovered the domain and turned the website into one of the fastest growing satirical blogs in Spain.

Although most of the visits come thanks to the collaborations of some of the most popular twitstars in Spain like @barbijaputa, @gerardotc, @norcoreano or @diostuitero, my most recent and most satisfying work has been a series of animated videos. Here’s the first installment: how to give a speech.
